Abstract: The history of a nation does not include only facts or sequences of events created by great men, but also a wider scope, referred to as spiritual landscape. The important events in the world are followed by the important events inside of the human mind. The philosophical refection follows events but philosophy as such prepares as well as forecasts the great changes. In this treatise the philosophical currents in Slomšek’s period
are dealt with. The outline of certain general characteristics of philosophy pertaining to modern times will be followed by an insight into the period between Scholastics and Neo-Scholastics on the Slovene territory.
